Ranger 22 slide action
Just received a Ranger 22 l & LR slide action 22 rile, looks like sort of like a Winchester 61 hammerless. The only markings on the rifle, besides the caliber on the barrel, is RANGER on the left side of the action. The barrel is 24", the serial number on the lower front of the action is 132404 K, it's a hammerless, tube feed, take down model.
I hade this rifle all apart, I can't find a proof mark, import mark or anything to tell me where it's from, or who manufactured it.
Can one of you fine folks shead some light on this?
Thank you.

WD. I think the ranger name was Winchester, but if so it should be clearly stamped Winchester. If not stamped Win, then not sure what you have.
The 696 is doing fine. [:D][:D]0 -
Your a good man Joe. It's not a Winchester, just built in that style. I've got both a Winchester 61 and a 63, so I know what they look like.
Thanks for the help.

Got this pic off one of the web sites. Supposedly it's a Savage Model 29 made for Sears. Ranger was a name used by Sears on there store brand guns. Compare the photo in the link to your gun.
