S&W 4513 TSW .45 Cal Semi auto

I recently bought a S&W Model 4513TSW Tactical.45 cal Semi Auto. The gun has not been fired a lot so it looks OK

When the slide is pulled back to cock the gun , I notice quite a Lot of "Barrel Slop".Also, it looks "Thin"

Does anyone make a better Barrel that would fit snug to take up this Slop and what about replacing the front Bushing??

I'm NOT trying to make this gun over to be "Olympic" Quality, but these changes might add to the accuracey of it.

    Most pistoles with a bbl bushing have reduced diameter starting about .5 inch from the muzzle; it reduces wear and aids cycling. You could fit a new bushing. How much slop do you have in the slide and rails? When you get everything nice and tight reliability goes to heck. I shot a hole bunch of ball 45 and reloads in a wore out 45 and never hit much with it. After years of practice with nice wheel guns learning to shoot I can now do ok work with that same worn out 45.

    Semi auto pistols that do not have a barrel fixed to the frame. "MOST ALL 45 ACP " types have barrels that are LOOSE once the slide starts to CYCLE UNLOCKING THE ACTION this is long after the bullet has left the Muzzle . This looseness has NO bearing on how small or large the Group is. Yes a bushing can be installed but most factory guns have a bushing that is fine and are just large enough to not bind on the barrel .

    The barrel is supposed to have slop when the slide is retracted. If you lock the slide back and shake the pistol, you will hear the barrel bouncing around, that is NORMAL! If you release the slide and the pistol is in battery, there should be no movement of the barrel.

    Shoot it before comdeming anything [;)]
    The TSW series all are very accurate.
    They are hand fit from S&W.
    The "KNOB" on the muzzle end of the barrel acts like a barrel bushing.
