38 Long Colt Ammo
Does anyone know how or where to obtain the discontinued Long Colt 38 round? [?]

My understanding it is loaded for the cowboy action shooters. GOOGLE, "SASS" or "Cowboy Action Ammo".
You would be way ahead using a Lee loader and rolling your own though. Use .38 Special brass and .38 Smith & Wesson, ( not .38 Special, they are different cartridges ), loading data.0 -
Great Thanks rufe-snow I have 1000 rounds of 38 S&W for my Colt Police Positive 38 made in 1912, so I have the brass after I shoot those rounds. However, I shoot that revolver sparingly. I would have to learn how to "roll my own" and I am not opposed to doing it, albeit very, very safely.
I will check out the websites you mentioned. Many thanks for your expertise.....O.D.0 -
For 38 LC I found:
38 BPC (Black Powder Cartridge) HBFP (Hollow Base Flat Point 150) (.357) on Ten X Ammuntion for sale Anyone think this will work?

Old Dog, R-S had it with the .38 Spl brass, with the .38 S&W loading data for the .38 LC. The .38 S&W brass won't cut it.
Black Hills also made it for CAS, it might still be at Midway etc.

Those should work just fine for about a $1 each. I think you can shoot the 38 S&W but they are short.
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/941258160/starline-brass-38-long-colt proper brass $18/100
Lee carbide dies $40 http://leeprecision.com/38-shrt-lg-colt-carbi.html0 -

.38 Long Colt case diameter is .378-.380 and .38 S&W case diameter is .386 so won't chamber.0 -

Guys you don't need to buy 38 LC brass...just trim 38 Special brass, its alot cheaper and much easier to find. Will have to trim .120 but that is easy with a power trimmer. 0 -
