Appraisal of Beretta PX4 Storm (Large pics warn.)

Hi all,

Thinking of selling my Beretta, and have someone interested in buying. It is a Beretta PX4 Storm in .40 S&W. Hopefully the pictures will show this, but the gun is in excellent condition with FIVE magazines, and no apparent holster wear. How much do you think this pistol is worth? Also, if anybody has any advice on getting a good picture of the bore itself, I'd love to know.

  I do have some suggestions for better pictures overall.
  
  1. Use NATURAL light whenever possible.
  2. Use the Macro mode on your camera, and hold your camera a foot to two foot off for close ups, and use the zoom. This helps eliminate flash glare.
  
  As for the value of your pistol...used, you are looking at around $400.00. They are indeed nice pistols, and it is a shame you are selling it. I have a PX4 Sub Compact 40, and I do love it.

  Thanks for the help, gentlemen. I've actually been quite happy with the PX4 other than one ergonomic quirk: My thumb is too short to reach the slide mounted safety without taking the pistol off target (i.e., It is no longer pointed downrange.). I've been delighted with it other than that, however, I think I'm going to sell it and put the money towards a new M&P40 w/thumb safety.
  
  As for the photo advice, I'll keep the information in mind. I'll have to borrow someone's camera though, as my phone doesn't have zoom :P

  wouldn't it be less expensive for you in the long run to just install an aftermarket extended safety on your beretta?
  
  Even if it wasn't extended, if it just had a small protruding ledge similar to the slide release lever, would you be able to manipulate it without changing your grip?

  Well, I suppose it would be less expensive, but I'm not aware of an aftermarket extension for the PX4, and if there was, I can't help but think that it would interfere with the slide cycling (Maybe not, but for some reason I do). If it was up to me, I'd keep the PX4 AND buy the M&P, but money dictates one or the other...
