Marlin 1894 loading problems
Need some advice on my 1894 Marlin 25-20 rifle. When you load the magazine the shell won't release to be chambered, you have to stick a small screwdriver down in the loading area and push the shell forward a little.I hope I'm explaining my problem clear enough.I showed a local gunsmith but he is not real familiar with lever guns.Any ideas at all where I should look to correct the problem? Thanks in advance.

if they are sticking on the end of the spring cover (loading gate), this is more or less normal, a new loading gate may help. 0 -
Make sure the mag tube is seated all the way into the receiver. Some have a small gap that allows the rim of the case to catch on the receiver and not feed out of the mag. The next part to look at would be the elevator/lifter. 0 -
Check the screw that holds the loading gate. It may be a little loose. I've fixed many for this. 0
