Help with dates & serial #'s
I purchased three old guns this afternoon:
1)STEVENS .22 caliber Long and Short, Pump Action, rifle marked April 30 1907 with a full choke marking...... SN:M-853 It looks like it would hold about 10 rounds. I haven't tried stuffing it yet..
2) Iver Johnson & Cycle Works (on the magazine) SN 47258 No ga id I can find. It does have a Iver Johnson, looks like bakelite, symbol/logo behind the trigger on the knob of the stock. The breech is opened by pulling on a ring ahead of the trigger within the trigger guard. My 12 ga cleaning brush fits like a glove, One more thing...The magazine is almost copper colored and most of the Iver Johnson Logo is fairly light. But I can make out clearly the Iver..J...then the Amrs & Cycle Works.
3) A Crescent(?) single shot shotgun that has an Abercrombie & Fitch butt plate. It says "long range winner" on the magazine and Genuine Armory Steel on the barrel. SN inside the opened breech on the barrel: 151001 with a V over the end of the number. Could this be a Crescent made for Sears and sold by Sears? The bore seems to be a 10 ga...b/c my 12 ga brush is smaller than the bore.
All three guns are in good condition, no cracks on the wood. Bores all are dirty but very good. Lock up is very tight on the Iver Johnson and a tiny bit loose on the Crescent. Rifiling is sharp in the .22 but dirty.
Any one have any ideas on when these guns were manufactured by the Serial numbers I have provided here.
Not looking for specific monetary value since there are no pics, etc, but a value range for them would help some. Thanks folks I appreciate any help or your ideas about these firearms.

1. ?? - Why would a .22 rifle have a "full choke" marking?
2. The "ring-trigger" Iver Johson single was made 1897-1904, but there are no serial no. records for them.
3. Crescent Firearms Co. existed 1890s-1930s and made thousands of guns for hardware and department stores.
Neither shotgun in usual condition would likely exceed $50 to $75.0 -
I don't know why there is a choke marking on that .22 It seems odd to me also..... I didn't even pay that much for all three so no big deal. I was merely looking for information on them. Thanks for your reply.

They were nice little guns but prone to feeding problems. Are you sure it's marked full choke?
By "magazine" of your single barrel shotguns, I guess you mean the frame? I have seen cold blue have a copper looking result on some guns.0 -
Yes by magazine I do mean frame..Sorry too use to lever actions...

And yes that little medallion is right on top of the barrel after the patent date of 1907..It's looks smililar to this * but it is just like the full bore choke symbol I see on shotguns.Curious, very curious. [?]0
