S&W Model 25 DOMs

I was hoping to find out the manufacturing year and the approximate value for two NIB John J. Jovino S&W Model 25 revolvers. Both are .45 LC & have blued finish.

I have an older STANDARD CATALOG OF SMITH & WESSON & could not find the serial number in it for the 6" listed below.

1) Model 25-2, 4", serial number N9303xx. This revolver has a sticker on the bottom of the grip. The sticker has the number 16 with a blue line through it.

2) Model 25-5, 6", serial number AJ691xx. This revolver has a sticker on the bottom of the grip. The sticker has the number 36 with a blue line through it.

  S & W made special order guns for various distributors during that time frame. Jovino is and was a big outfit in NY, wouldn't surprise me that it was a special run for them.
  
  The pined barrel would be a way to narrow down the DOM. The early -5's made before 82, would be pinned.
  
  Value would be based on condition. Need quality photos for an accurate assessment of value. Likely the 4" would be worth more. The way gun prices have been escalating lately, both would be hot sellers if priced realistically.

  The 25-2 should have started life as a 45 ACP revolver, although Smith did use whatever they had and a "mismarked" frame isn't unusual. Whether it had a 6" or the earlier 6.5" barrel I'm not certain - not sure of the cutoff date going to the slightly shorter barrel.
  
  I recall Jovino did work on their own too. Pictures would help quite a bit to determine if the 4" was a Jovino cut down of the ACP barrel or factory installation of a 45 Colt barrel. The ACP "Model of 1955" barrel is pretty stout and the markings on the shortened version would probably tend to be off center front to back.

  1. That serial number is from the 82-86 time frame. The 25-2 was made from 61-76.
  
  2. The 25-5 started in 78 and went until 82. The sn does not follow normal S&W procedure.
  
  Letters from Roy Jinks might shed some light.

  I have a plug nickel I am willing to wager your M25-5's ser# is in fact AJG 91xx
  
  In good outdoor light with a magnifying glass, look closely to see if this not true. The foremat you have posted does not follow true to S&W procedure.

  To all that answered; Thank you for your time & effort.
  
  These revolvers belong to my brother. He is sick and lives in a different state than I do. Pictures at this time are possible. He read me the info over the phone & had dificulty doing so.
  
  As cussedemgun mentioned he probably read the serial number incorrectly (he has vision difficulties).
  
  I have seen these revolvers and they are pristine. He also has two other Model 25's, a) 2?" Nickel & b) 7 5/8" Blued. These two are locked up and he is having difficulty getting them out for viewing.
  
  I will try to get someone to take some photos of all four of his Model 25's.
