Glock Serial Number

So I'm trying to date a Glock that I might possibly buy but reading Glock Serial Number charts is like reading stereo instruction.

Serial is SN010 though I have not seen it...just what I was told. Comes in a old looking white-ish box says 1987 award-winning blah blah. It's a G17 I know that.

  You need the correct two letter code before the actual serial number. "SN" dates to the 90's. DOM would be quite a bit later then 1987. Although the box it came in may not be the original one the pistol was sold with?
