Pedersen Rifle Value?
I was wondering if anyone has any recent values on these rifles. I was also wondering if Serial Number really matters. I've done some research and it seems SN# 1-25 were used in the trials back in the 1930's. I was also wondering if anyone knows how many Carbines were made. I'm assuming the Carbines are much more rare since I've only seen one for sale which sold at Rock Island and I haven't found any other or even any other pictures besides the picture of one in the Springfield Armory Museum collection.

The OP is referring to the .276 semi-auto rifle that Pedersen & John Garand co-developed. Ned Schwing's "Standard Catalog of Military Firearms" has photos & a brief description of this exceedingly rare firearm.
I think that it would be safe to assume that a recent sale at RIA is a good approximation of the value.

EDIT: It gets more complicated, as the Pedersen was made both by Springfield Armory & Vickers-Armstrong. Few, if any, SAs are in private hands, the Vickers will likely be the only ones available to fill that little hole in a US military collection. Were #s 1-25 used by SA, & 26+ up assigned to Vickers? I don't know; maybe yours was really the first made by them. As this rifle was never put into production, all were handmade in the model shop, & all would be valuable. You may want to contact Jim Supica, an expert on this model; he is now director of the NRA museum.0 -

Unfortunately RIA only sold 1 Pedersen that I'm aware of in the past few years. I'm trying to figure out the value on the Rifle since they seem to be more common then the Carbine. I'd love to find out the Rifle to Carbine ratio. I'll try to post some pictures shortly. I'm figuring 1-25 will have some significant value considering they were used in the trials and from what I've found on Wikipedia only 23 rifles/carbines were made for the trials one in that serial number range was made for Mr. Pedersen. I believe 1 of the 25 was only a receiver. I wasn't sure if there would be a demand for serial number 26 since it was the first one made after the 25 for the trials.
