I mentioned it before but I though I'd say it again. In case it is really stuck have someone else hold the barrel while you work the wrench. It seems to be natural to hold the barrel at the top with one hand while you turn the wrench with the other. I had one stuck SOB one time and tried it myself doing it this way. The wrench slipped out of the choke and tore the heck out of my hand that was holding the top of the barrel. Got it all fixed up but didn't see the rest of the blood on the barrel until after it already spotted some of the blueing. BTW, the choke tube wrenches make such a nice even cut too[;)] Good luck.

Choke tube is out after a long soak in Kroil and a 1/2 in impact wrench on low. Thanks for all advise. Jeff K. 0 -
I like a story that ends well [^]. I would buy another Choke tube of the proper type to fit your brand of gun . Then i would screw in your barrel after coating threads with good quality gun grease..if this new tube shows even a HINT of being tight I would find a gunsmith that threads barrels for choke tubes of your size. Your barrel might have a burr or ding in the threads and only get worst. I have used J.B. bore cleaner to fix a burr taking a tube with some on the threads and installing choke tube a half turn then remove then repeat until I can turn all the way in. 1/2 turn at a time. Clean barrel and oil choke tube should turn in within 1/2 turn from all the way with just your finger no wrench. 0 -
Check with companies that supply goodies to mechanics and machinists- there is a product called anti-seize that is used to keep threaded parts from becoming one with each other. Coat threads after cleaning, before re-assembly. 0 -
Good job, love happy endings. I vote for real choke tube lube mine is a different brand.

I USE BRILEYS LUBE ON MY K-80 AND 391. No problems. The BPS was bought at a gun show used. Thanks again for all the help. Jeff K AKA Sportingclays 0 -
