Model 1890 Date of Manufacture
What is the month of manufacture in 1892 for an 1890 serial number in the 13,500 range?
I am away from the gun and thats all I remember of it or else I would have been more specific.

If you want the absolute most accurate information, on the year and month of both of your rifles, you should ask our Moderator Bert H. He is the deFacto Winchester guru here, and spends a lot of time at the Cody Museum, doing research, writing letter's, and has written a book or two with up to date information. Some of the older references, are erraneous, sometimes by several years, depending on what model, and time frame.

Snap, tell me more about your first model 1890's! What calibers? Your July 1891 rifle is probably in the high 3,000 range? Incidentally, I own # 13510.... is your rifle close to that? Greg 0 -
Well one has the #3634 chambered in short. The neat thing about this gun is that it was maufactured 100 years to the day before I was born. It was stamped on July 1st 1891, I was spanked on July 1st 1991.
My second, also chambered in short holds #13,588 If my memory is correct. I am out of town and for some reason cannot remember the number as well as my other one. If the number is different than I posted I will let you know when I get home.

Snap,thanks for the info. Pretty impressive collection of slide action .22's, especially for a 20 year old! You probably know already that .22 Shorts are, by far, the most produced caliber, followed by .22 Long, and finally, .22 WRF's are the scarcest. ANY 1st model 1890 is a treasure.
