Have a sks sporter has thumb hold stock and takes a AK47 magazine.is it just an sks are mac90, what is it and how much is it worth.

what is value of a sks sporter takes ak mags excellent cond,has thumbhole stock and a red star 4x20 scope.THANKS

A local shop has one for $1200. They've had it for about 6 years now. Real world price in my neighborhood is $450.

When SKS's came out using AK mags the going price was $600-650.
They dropped in price when there was fear of them being banned but came up some since.
Some are USA home conversions and some are Chinese conversions.
I'd examine it out of the stock first and fire it if the magazine recesses aren't properly blued which would indicate a home conversion.
The early rear cover scope mounts shake loose even with the light 4x20 scope.
Nevertheless it's a heck of a better rifle than an AK and taking AK mags
is a major plus.
