Remington 700 PSS

Hey guy's I've been looking at getting a PSS, and I asked my local gun shop if they could get a price for me, but they're saying they can't find these rifles in their machines... I know they still make the 700 but do they still make the PSS? also is the PSS the same as the 700P as both are police rifles, just wo ndering if the P and PSS are one and the same. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    I can't find this gun listed anywhere on Remington's site. I know they've been around for a little while. Do they still sell them? If so, am I just overlooking it?
    I had my sights set on the Sendero, what are the main differences between it and the PSS? I think they are both fully bedded heavy-barrelled guns, and the PSS has two front swivel studs... What else?
    What's the difference in price?

    The PSS replaced the P. The SPS replaced them both.
    They have the VTR-XCR and TM that they concider all tactical now.
    My PSS-LTR is a tack driver [;)]

    EDIT--The VTR would be a good choice if you can't find a PSS.

    So another question then. If the PSS isn't a realistic find, would the 700 VTR be a good seconadry choice? I'm looking for a tactical bolt action in the 700-900 range. the VTR falls right in that range and it's in .308 which is the caliber I would like. Or do you guys have other suggestions? I was just dead set on the PSS because I've fired one and I loved it. I'm totally open to suggestions though.

    If you can't find a PSS then I suggest buying the least expensive Remington M700 chambered in .308 Win. with the barrel length you desire. Then it's a simple matter of buying an HS Precision stock (PSS) or even a Bell and Carlson and doing a swap. Do the math, it comes out to the same price range as you state. Sell the factory stock to recoup a little of the price for the HS product. All of the Remington rifles are basically the same, they just change the stock, barrel length and barrel diameter.
