Hi-Standard DM-101
I have a Hi Standard DM-101 that will not fire. It appears the striker is not hitting the rim of the round with enough force to fire the round. I have replaced the striker, however it will fire two rounds and then will not fire again. Does anyone know how to remedy this?
Thanks

Are you using .22 WMR or WRF ammo? Your derringer is not designed to fire any other .22 round.

EDIT: Well, the next thing I'd want to rule out is peening of the breech end caused by dry firing. If that's the situation, you need to smooth the steel back to original shape with a hardened drift & a mallet, do not grind off the high spots.0 -

I owned one years ago. It was only completely reliable with Federal WRM ammo, for some reason? Long as I fed it Federal, it worked. Other brands just one barrel would fire, most of the time.
I only thing I could figure was that the priming composition in the rim of the Federal ammo was more sensitive, then that of other manufacturers.0
