LLAMA MAGAZINE
I recently inherited a llama Model III-A .380 ACP. It's missing a magazine and I'm having trouble finding one. Any advice?

All this has on it is LLAMA CAL. 22 L.R., Looks like a 1/2 size 1911-COLT. I thought someone might know if the sig's or GSG 22 mag would interchange.
I know where I can purchase four for the sig/GSG at a very good price but they have to be shipped, they look like a fit in the photo but can't tell for sure. Thought someone on here might know.

Nope... The GSG/SIG mags are for a full size 1911 frame style. Note that I've not tried inserting one into my 45 1911, but they are MUCH bigger than the mag on my llama 380 1911.
Manoa-Fisherman - where are people paying $100 for GSG 1911 mags? Local pawn shop (gunshop that does pawn) has 'em for $32 OTD, even the local known rip off gunshop has 'em for $40 OTD.... wholesale on 'em is around $23 from a few different distributors....0 -

[:0]I'm not sure where you are coming up with the $100 GSG's, there are some on GunBroker for less than $30 but if the GSG mag's will fit my LLama I know where I can get four of them tor $35 shipped.
Do you have any idea if they will work?

I sell a lot of magazines on the auction side. There are two types of Llama 22LR magazines. Old and new model. They do not interchange. Early model guns have wood grips and no US importer marks. New models have plastic grips and most were importeed by Stoeger Arms. They are both hard to find. I have gotten $50-75 for them and have not had one in months. Try searching on the auction side. There is nothing for another model that will interchange. I assume meg-gar or triple k make replacemwnts. Good luck. 0 -
There are actually three types of original Llama magazines for these pistols. One has a solid metal follower and has long open slot on the right side. Second has a stamped metal follower and has holes on the right side. These two magazines are for the especial & older style mini 1911. The new style has open slots on both sides of the magazine body and will not work in the older style pistols. There were a few aftermarket magazines made for these also. My Llama Especial .22 came with the older style magazine with the metal follower, but the magazine was not in working order. I purchased a aftermarket magazine at a gun show and it worked flawlessly. I found another magazine at later gun show and it is the older style with holes and that works great also. A few years ago on one of the auction sites a guy was selling a couple of 15 round magazine made by Triple K, I took the chance and purchased them, and they function with no problems. I also purchased a new style magazine at still another gun show and drove a few miles out in the country and loaded it to see if it fed and functioned properly and it did not. I went back to the show and the guy refunded my money. The problem with the Llama was that they were a little vague on the model designations and with slight changes over the years you had two pistols that looked exactly alike but were a little different on the inside. I think this created allot of the negative reputation that this brand had. Here are some pictures. The magazine on the far left has a slot that runs most of the way but does not show up great in the picture. The first two magazines from the left have made in Spain on the floor plates. The third magazine from the left is a aftermarket maker unknown? The last is the Triple K 15rd magazine.

Thank you for all of the time and effort that had to go in to your response about the Llama magazine. It was very informative to myself, and I am sure to a lot of others.
The magazine in my Llama is like the first one, with the solid metal follower, only mine has a roller pin at the bottom of the follower that protrudes through the slots to help keep things lined up, I suppose, and mine is chrome.
My gun must be an earlier one, it only has a three digit serial number. It shoots great but I do only have the one mag.
My son was visiting another state and happened to go in to a pawn shop just looking around and spotted four magazines that looked like the one in my Llama, only the pawn shop owner said that they were for a 22cal 1911 Sig or a GSG. I looked on-line to see just what the Sig Mag's look like and from the pictures they do look just like mine. The pawn shop owner is offering them to me at a good price and is willing to mail them. Only problem is that I'm not sure if they will work. I was just asking if any one on here had tried SIG Mag's in a Llama. I'm still not sure, however I can tell that you went to a lot of trouble to share your knowledge about Llama magazines and I am much more informed after reading your response. Thank you0
