Mr. Hartman, I have purchased the 1885 Winchester SN 3214 that you have been kind enough to research this one of a kind special order rifle. It is my understanding it will included in your new book, can you tell me when it will be in print? Thanks..Carl Merck

Actually, it is one of just two Model 1885 high-wall rifles in that caliber. What will be published is a picture of the unique caliber marking. I assume that Lew sent you the letter that I wrote for him. I am still a few years away from being ready to publish the book. 0 -

Buyer BEWARE! If it was just one of two made, and the seller knew it, I am sure the price would have been a LOT more than $5K. I am sure there a plenty of counterfeits out there.

Mr. Harman, Yes , Lew was kind enough to send your letter plus several others to include the letter from the family about it being used in South Dakota by the great Grandad. When I stated "one of a kind", I guess it would be a special order one of a kind in the caliber with the heavy #4 Barrel. I'll order your book as soon as it is out, Thanks for the info...Carl Merck 0
