Shattuck sxs forearm
I received a lot of good advice on how to remove the forearm from this sxs Shattuck. I agree it looks like it should just pop off as do Savage 311's but I cannot get it to come off. I have applied a good amount of force, penetrating oil and patients. I don't want to damage or ruin anything. What is the button on the bottom of the receivers function? and is it related to the forearm?

I was able to remove the forearm this evening while doing minimal damage. The wood came off the screws and the forearm hardware stayed with the barrel. There is a spring loaded plunger which was rusted and would not retract. Then the button on the bottom of the receiver needs to be activated to remove the barrels from the receiver. fyi. 0
