M1911 Custom Mfr and Quality Steel
There was a post a few months back that I forgot to save to favorites. It involved a GB poster recommending a M1911 mf'r that did custom guns.
The website that was recommended said that the quality of the steel was very important, and the website showed the type of steel that all mfr's should use, and didn't. The website showed the type of steel used by the various manufacturers, as a comparison, and most fell short of [the manufacturer I'm seeking] steel used in production.
Anybody remember the shop? The link?
Thanks, Joe

Caspian is the maker of choice when it comes to Match grade frames and slides. For barrels Kart for lead bullet loads and Barsto for 230 grain jacketed bullets are the barrels of choice for the Top builders of match pistols . IMHO no factory make pistols that are true Master Class Bulls-Eye guns most all past champions of the national championships have either had Military Marksmanship built guns or custom pistol-smiths Like David Sams .Jerry Keefer. and a hand full of others most have waiting list of over one year. If you want to see pictures of some guns built by old school masters and some I built double click on my user name and send me a personal email with your email address . I have a few i collected I shot Camp Perry

Thanks, Karl! I've seen your pistols (a few years back-can't remember where, exactly), and they are neat. Thanks anyway for the kind offer. Joe 0
