If you had a gun that needed wielding and machining, who would you used?

Thanks Forgemonkey, I think this job is beyond me doing it and no gunsmiths I have talked to have any model 11 experience or just won't touch one. It failed due to improper ring setup and put a hairline crack in the receiver that was sucessfully repaired but the gunsmith died before completion of the entire repair. Oh well

May check with the techs at Brownells. Many years ago I received a newsletter that covered this subject. It was also in one of the 'Gunsmith Kinks' books I believe. The fix involved using the lining from a brake shoe. Good luck.

A gunsmith need not be in Indiana. You can ship it to any you wish.
    Try contacting Simmons Guns.

And yes, you are correct. Replacing the rivet/cushion isn't something to attempt at home without the correct drill and rivet setting guide.
