thread in rifled choke, paradox shotgun

Any expert experience with rifled shotgun chokes? What slug to use? Accuracy? Difficult to remove? Return to zero? Gauges? Makers?
I know you ask , why... When you can buy a rifled barrel. Thinking about a small gauge, 20 or 410 sxs cz shotgun with thread in chokes, and using a rifled choke to simulate a paradox sxs, or even a sxs double rifle. What do u think?

  Now, I could be wrong, it's happened once before [;)] But I've always felt that rifled choke tubes were more marketing hype than practicality. If you think of it like this: pretty much no pistol on the planet can match a rifle for accuracy. Rifles have longer barrels. Longer barrels seem to stabilize bullets better than short ones (pistols) and generally seem to be more accurate.
  
  So, if you have a long shotgun barrel and desire to shoot slugs accurately, would you rather get a rifled slug barrel designed to do so? Or would you rather install a rifled choke tube to (hopefully) give it the accuracy of a handgun?
  
  Seems to me that a rifled barrel would be the way to go. Hands down.
  
  I know they make smooth slug barrels too. I have one, and with the right slugs, it shoots very well. So if that smooth slug barrel can send slugs down range with a certain consistency and harmonics, etc, then why would I want to disrupt that path for the last few inches of the barrel and change everything.
  
  All in all, I've shot rifled barrels that worked great with the correct slugs and same for unrifled barrels. I don't know that a combination of the two would actually produce the results we desire.
  
  Sometimes in the morning I like to drink coffee. Other mornings I like to drink orange juice. Either makes me happy. But I don't think mixing them together would work out very well... Just sayin'.

  Agree but I was trying to put together a "poor mans" sxs rifle.
  By using a 20ga with thread in chokes and install a set of leaf sights.
  I wonder about the twist direction and choke thread in direction.
  Wonder about accuracy, regulation or the barrel pair. Worse comes to worse I have a 20ga sxs before I drill the sight on.

  I load the Lyman 12 ga sabot slug (540gr) in my combat 870 express. A pistol gripped 20" tube with screw in chokes. I did put a small mid bead in the rib to give me two aiming points. It can catch dinner to a 100 yards or so as long as its as big a a 3# coffie can, not to bad for a smoothbore.

  I bought a Carlson rifled choke tube for my Beretta Xtrema.(Slug barrels are $720. That would be a good reason to buy a tube.)
  
  I had 4 people with Benelli or Beretta shotguns say the Hornady sabot slugs & the Carlson slug chokes shot just like a rifled barrel.
  
  Well....they were right!
  
  I ended up selling the gun and now I have a $50 choke and now gun to use it on.[:(]

  You'd be farther ahead just putting in an IC choke and forgetting you ever had that idea at all.

  You are trying to make a poor mans double rifle out of a 20 ga shotgun,right? I played with a 12 ga o/u Beretta with Briley screwed
  in rifled tubes.This was my problems. Kicked like a mule. With the shotgun sights,one barrel shot left and the other shot high right at 50 yards.I didn't have rifle sight on the rib,but even if you have the rifle sights what if you barrels are out so that 100 yards your slugs are 8/12" apart on target. The tubes do stablize the Sabot slugs. 125 yard shot are possible. Not all smooth bore slug guns go out that far,
  they are all different. Foster slugs used in the smooth bore are good out too 100yds+ or -. After that its luck or a very accurate smooth bore shotgun.My state requires Deer slugs.Tried them all looking for the best Shotgun 12 and 20ga. Currently have a 20 ga and a 12 ga each shoot 3" or less groups at 100 yard.They are cantilevered scoped. One pump and one auto both full rifled barrels.To me the hardest part is finding which manufacturers slug works the best in each shotgun.Belive me they are all different....

  I own a HK O/U paradox shotgun. It is rifled around 8" before the muzzle. Shoots slugs with amazing accuracy and spins the wad of a shotgun shell with pellets with an amazing spread of 48" x 48" at 20 yd.
