The changes were made to the slide and frame and not to the barrel so you gain or lose nothing. The cracked slides were very rare but caused considerable bad press for Beretta, which had narrowly gained the US military contract ahead of the SIG-Sauer P-226 entry.

If you look at the rear of a 92FS frame you will see a large round disc. This is a slide retention feature which will capture a broken slide in the event of a failure. The inside rail of a 92FS frame has a corresponding groove cut into it to allow it to ride over the disc while a 92F slide will not have that groove and as a result will not fit an FS frame.

If your 92 has been set up for simunitions use be sure to change out the recoil spring to a 9mm standard spring, Wolffe makes them - available from Brownell's.

The slide breakage was only on very high round count military pistols. Your 32F will be OK with the slide that is original to the frame.
