2015 BR Powder in .22 Hornet
I have one pound of 2015 and would be interested in trying it out in my Kimber 82 Hornet.
The little bit of data I've found looks like a full case (compressed charge) of about 12 grains should give very modest velocities; perhaps around 2,000 to 2,100 fps. This could work for me, IF accuracy is good.
So,
Obviously not an ideal powder for the little .22, but has anyone had experience with this combination (2015 in HOrnet) and if so, were you able to find an accurate combination?
Thanks,
Rob

IMR 4227 works just fine in my Hornet, just my two cents 0 -
That should be an outstanding powder in your combination of rifle and a good bullet.
I've had nothing but success with this powder and accuracy.0 -
Sounds like a bit of a waste. I've been wanting to try a pound. Sierra lists its best loads for accuracy for each bullet and 2015 is often the powder in combinations that call for a little less burn speed than what a hornet needs.
It is a little faster than I need but it seems to give up little velocity to the best powders even at a much lower charge weight in the various ex military calibers like 303.
You'd wind up wasting a good deal of it unburned out of the muzzle.0
