any idea what this follewer is

any idea what this follower belongs too
2 3/4 inches long 3/4 inches wide
only markings are numbers 7820
would this be from a lever gun?

Would be most helpful to see the other side. Looks more like a box magazine unit to me.

Not a follower. Is part of rear sight assembly from a military M98 Mauser bolt-action rifle.

Yep, they're interchangable to allow for changing military loadings.

That's actually to top of the assembly that is under the leaf.
