A Night Sight?

Does anyone know what this is? I was told it is a "night sight" for some weapon. It is 7 inches long and the bore is 7/8 inches in diameter.

Don't know what it is? Never seen one before. Any chance it a auxiliary sight made to clamp around a shotgun barrel?

Looks like a grenade launcher attachment to me, with iron sights. I would doubt it it a night sight setup. Sorry I can't help with identification. Are there absolutely no marking on it?
