AJB5042 also Smith and Wesson on barrel is gold...did some come that way....no more gold just the name

  "AJB" = No certainty, but likely 1986.
  
  Gold inlay is from a aftermarket kit. The kit was advertised in the "Shotgun News" and various gun magazines. Not uncommon to run across guns "upgraded", by their owners. With the gold fill in the markings.
