H&R EJECTOR QUESTION
Hello all, I have an sb2 ultra in 308. My question is do these come standard as an ejector or extractor model. I have an older handirifle that ejects the shell but this one only raises it. Just wondering if something may be wrong with it because id rather it eject and want to fix it if so. Thanks in advance

The auto ejecting feature is sometimes disabled by removal of the ejector spring, by someone who wants to save the brass.

I'm not sure if it has an ejector or an extractor. http://www.hr1871.com/Support/manuals.asp 0 -
Well i took it apart and dont see where a spring could go and it looks a lilttle different from the schematics so i guess mine is just an extractor....dangit.! Thanks 0 -
Having fooled with H&R's for 40+ years I think the extractor system is more reliable than the ejector system. 0 -
I agree i am sure it is... mainly use it for hunting and would just rather it eject for follow ups and such. not easy to get fingers on shell with gloves on. but its fine like it is, one shot is enough majority of the time. its amazing what these short barrels can do. it will shoot sub moa groups with ease 0
