Marlin model 81 DL
I have a Marlin 81 Dl and it is a clip model. On GunBroker, the model 81 dl is a tube feed. It shows that a model 80 DL is a clip rifle. It is stamped on my barrel that it is a 81 DL. I need a clip for it and will the clip for a 80 DL fit? Thanks. Barry

You need a magazine not a clip. Look at the floor plate drawings and compare to yours.0 -
The 81DL was tube feed. Is it possible that yours was rebarreled at some point? 0 -
Somethings not right...if your barrel has a dovetail notch underside, up
closer to the front sight...than you have a replacement barrel on the
receiver. The notch held the magazine tube.
A model 80 magazine will fit your .22, and the DL version had a peep
sight...which can still be found for about $100, provided you have two
factory drilled holes on the left side of the receiver, and there is a
flat area on the DL stock to accommodate the sight.
The DL stock was also walnut instead of hardwood i believe, and had
sling swivels.0 -
