Worth of CMP 1903 and M1 Garand
I have a CMP 1903 in the cosmoline from the arsenal with all appropriate paperwork and am trying to put a value to it. Also have a M1 Garand from the CMP with paperwork and trying to determine the same - any advice appreciated.

We need to know the makers, serial number ranges and perhaps some mention of just how original they are and if they have been refinished. A few photos would be helpful. Instructions for posting photos can be found here:

Model types, condition, matching parts, TE and ME ratings for erosion, etc. will all play a big factor. Somewhere between $500 and $3000. 0 -
There is no value added to guns covered in grease. Just the opposite, in fact. So, use a solvent to remove as much as you can without disassembly, unless you know how to take them apart.
It may help to see the documents. They will tell us the grade.

"There is no value added to guns covered in grease"
Compared to guns improperly cleaned of grease, I'd say the cosmoline should stay.0
