one of the best books I have found is Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistols written By JOHN W BRUNNER page 18 has a great detailed write-up of the many changes of the markings and color of magazines
If you can't find this book to read or purchase . Double click on my user name and send me a fax number and I will try to copy and fax to you. Very busy this time of year and may take me some time. You might be able to find a copy on line.

EDIT Hello I got your email Be aware that there is an internal to GunBroker FIREWALL so the messages come Through but sometimes this causes confusion because of the difference Between Email address sender Real name and user name on GunBroker Forums. I will sell my author signed copy of the book I have with dust jacket but it would be BIG BUCKS I normally don't sell my reference books but don't really collect this model Colt pistol. My book is hardbound with 224 pages . If you want one way to search online this book has the "ISBN" number of 0-932572-24-3
I work part time and don't have a copier or scanner at home . I can make copy of page 18 and 19 when I get a chance at work and then Mail to you I don't think I can take a picture download on my computer and attach to a email that has the quality you need to read
the print. It may be the first of next week before I can get that done. IN your original post you state "POINT me to a document that will VERIFY this information . Really the only way I know how is to have you have a copy of this book. The following is some high lights
The Earliest magazines had base plate pinned to the tube were all blue and unmarked as to caliber 32 had seven viewing holes while the 380 had 6. around 1910 SN 3500 bases were marked CALIBER .380 or CAL 380 COLT 32 Magazines were not marked this early. This is just the beganing of almost a full page of changes by serial number ranges.
