Are all makers interchangeable?

I'm going to be reloading .458 SOCOM and I see Lee and Hornady makes the dies. Now if I get say RCBS will the dies fit?

I'll mainly reload .45LC, .45-70 Gov. so I don't need anythng fancy.

  50 Cal. BMG uses the big dies. Lyman 310 use small dies. Almost everything else is 7/8 - 14. I think dillion also has a special size.
  
  Shell holder the same brand as your dies is a good plan.

  Assuming you're asking if the dies will fit in your press. Most current loading dies are 7/8x14 thread. Exceptions are the oversized 50 BMG and the undersized Lyman "tong tool" dies.

  I have an RCBS JR2 & I use Lee, RCBS, even Bonanza dies with no problems.

  Looks like any ol' die will fit in to any ol' press. Cool, thanks. Time to go shopping for dies.
