  I have a Wars Westernfield 410 single shot bolt action.
  All it says on the barrell is
  Wards Western Field
  No.1A 410-3in PROOF TESTED
  I have seen another one that had a rear rifle sight mine doesn't. I know that Wards didn't make their own guns but I haven't been able to find this one.
  Thanks for any info.

  Looks more like my boyhood Stevens Model 94.
  Sears had several sources for guns over the years.

  That gun was made by several makers, but think the barrel markings indicate Savage made that one. The "forged in one piece" marks were usually IJs. Story was that Sears accepted bids each year to see who would make the gun that year.
