Shilo Sharps Trigger Adjustment.

Just got one used. When I set the trigger with the back one the front is ultra sensitive. I'm guessing the screw inbetween is for adjustment but what does it do and which way do turn it?

  Haven't shot a S. Sharps in years, but generally the little screw in between the triggers controls the engagement of that set trigger sear. As you screw it in there is less engagement to the point it will not set. My normal test is on an empty rifle that is "set" should not fire when the butt is thumped on the floor reasonably hard.

  Well, you only have two ways you can turn it. I would believe, that counter clockwise, would loosen up the spring tension on the sear. If it does not, then I would go the other way. Conversly, the triggers are pretty decent in those, without using the set trigger. Have you tried it?

  You know - did not try it without setting the trigger which now is so light a breeze would set if off. Thanks for the help. I'll try without setting it and also back it out and see what transpires.

  Agree with tsr; you have the gun, I trust you have a small screwdriver. Tinker with it and see what happens.

  I have seen few DSTs with what I would call a good unset pull.
