Winchester 1893 reciever takedown?

    The steps required to disassemble the Model 1893 are different depending on when it was manufactured (the serial number, and the letter above the serial number if it has one).

    Careful! I have one of these and most were NOT steel barrels. Also mine is chambered for 2 5/8".

    I disagree... all Model 1893 shotguns were made with steel barrels. The most common were the fluid steel barrels, with a fair number of damascus steel barrels made. The fluid steel barrels were standard, and the damascus was a special order option. You are correct that they were all made with a 2-5/8" chamber.

    Mine does have damascus barrels. I have shot some old black power 2 5/8 shell thru it.
