Still a good one?

Hi, experts. I've heard that Colt 2nd generation SAAs made in the 70s with high serial numbers, like in the 68000+ range, were already not as good as the earlier guns, this before the 3rd generation guns came out with lesser quality. Any truth that the guns at the end of the 2nd generation run were inferior? If so, anybody know at about what serial number range the quality started to slip? Thanks Jim

  I wouldn't say they were inferior....just not immediately collectable. As some wish they were.

  second gen guns Serial #0001SA-69400SA These are second Gen Guns then a gap of 5000 guns that start with 800000SA These are actually 3th Gen guns No cylinder bushing Then serial #had SA before the number digits
