what is the age and model of colt 1911 FR30731E. any other details, value, problems etc
perfect condition
it has govt model automatic cal 45 on the left side
colts ptfa and serial no. on the right.

  It used to be easy Colt military had NO. then number digits only Civilian Models had C then number digits . Then the series 70 and commsnders and nickle finsh came about so serial had combo of different Number digits and letters , all got too confusing to keep up with even books stopped in the 1980's. Call colt.

  My new Blue Book Pocket Guide indicates this would (probably) be a, 1998 or newer, Series 80 Government Model Enhanced. First number shown for 1998, FR21731E
