When it comes to pistol sights, you'll get a wide variety of opinions. If you ask each person his likes and dislikes, you will find that one person's likes are another person's dislikes. These opinion forums, like this one, generate a lot of "I like this" opinion, but they won't necessarily generate a lot of helpful "I like this because it works in these situations and here are the specifics..."

My strong recommendation is that you don't rely on other people's opinions, but rather take a hands on approach: Go to a really good gun store (and maybe even a well populated shooting range) and try out all the options that interest you. At a range, ask your fellow shooters if you can handle their handguns to examine the sights.

My opinion, based on 25 years of carry and hands-on, gun industry insight: Night sights are my first choice because they are great in low light. Tritium stays usefully bright better than anything that depends on a battery for its operation. When the background is bright, but your position is dark, you won't be able to see the tritium, but you will have the basic iron sights for alignment. My preference is Trijicon, Meprolight, and Ameriglo night sights. They are reliable.

Hi Viz brand fluorescent light pipe sights and many red dot sights of many different designs are great for match and casual range use. However, dependence on sights that can't stay useful if in contact with petroleum gun cleaning products (I.e. light pipes), and things that depend on batteries and electronics (red dots, lasers) has Murphy's Law consequences on occasions. They're great when they work, but they're only as good as your diligence and luck, combined.

If you're interested, we sell night sights from the above named companies here:

Thanks. I have a set of fixed Meprolight sights on my Glock and really like them. That is what I am leaning towards right now.
