R-P, stands for Remington-Peters, so it is a remington cartridge case, in 30-06. From what you describe, these are the Remington Accelerator's, which were a 30 caliber sabot, around a 22 caliber, 55 grain Power-Lokt Hollow point. They were said to run near to 4000 FPS.

Not sure what the second five are about, but it sounds like someone fiddled with them.

As tsr1965 said, the first five are Remington .22 Accelerator cartridges ca. 1970s and 1980s. They were also made in 30-30 and 308W. The idea never really caught on.

From your description, it is really hard to visualize the other five. You need to give a better description or, even better, a photo or two. Could they be Accelerators where a part of the sabot has broken off? Just a SWAG.

If they are HP's they could reloads. The other sound questionable. Personally 10 rounds of mystery isn't worth the risk.

Thanks for the info guys. After a closer look I have 5 Remington Accelerators and 5 Remington 30.06 cartridges. They are in a Triple K model #105 A cartridge holder that is in great shape. It looks like this stuff is about 45 years old. I will put it on the auction side. Any idea what it is worth?
    Thanks again guys,

With luck, and a desprate buyer, you might get $1 ea for the sabot rounds, and $.5 for the regulars.
At a cartridge show, you'll find both to be rather common, most often in the "5 for a buck" bins (full Garand clips of AP and API ammo are in the "$2ea / 12/$20" bin).

Please note that shipping a single round of live ammo (or5) will run about $11. These cannot be mailed in US Mail.

The 30-06 Accelerator had a claimed velocity of around 4,500 fps, and laid claim to the "Fastest Factory Load in the World" spot. The .308 Winchesters claimed about 4100 fps. Still have 4 boxes of those.

Well if that is all they are worth I'll just give them away to local ammo collector pals. I'll put the Triple K leather on here as a give away.

10 rounds of fairly common ammo is not like winning the lottery. It is gun show type stuff.

I'd still like to see a photo of "The copper is cracked and the bullet has moved maybe .040" away from the brass."

The chemicals used to tan leather are highly acidic, & will eventually damage cartridges left in contact with it. I suspect that all your cartridges are now worthless.

The proof is in the photos.
