    Browning serial numbers in that era, when they were transitioning production. From Belgium to Japan, tend to be a might confusing. Even their web site doesn't get it right. My WAG is that the last two numbers are the actual date that have been transposed, i.e. "37" = "73".

    I doubled checked the serial number and it is correct, it ends with W37.
