H&R Topper M48 Firing Pin Questions?

    Many years ago I repaired firing pin for mine. I think there is a small coil spring #28 (like a ball point pen, could have easily rusted away) to retract the FP. The hammer is a rebounding type, and should not rest on the FP. I think you can cock the hammer and remove screw #20 and slip out the FP.

    If not then take off the butt stock, and put a paper clip in the hole on the cocked hammer spring guide rod, Press the trigger to release the hammer and then slip out the trapped spring. Pound out the pins holding the parts in place. Note some pins could have fins and only push out in one direction (model 58 are this way).

    IIRC you need to make slave pin(s) to hold the trigger group together while you put it in the receiver. The full length pins (#16) are driven in pushing out the slave ones.
