Kel tec vs Ruger LCP
A puzzlement gentlemen: Why, two identical 380 caliber pistols, Kel tec P3AT and Ruger LCP, one a copy of the other, do they have such different recoil springs. I handled my brother's Ruger today and had little trouble operating the slide while my Ket tec is a bear to operate?

The two guns aren't identical. While the Ruger is basically a copy of the Kel-Tec, there are a few design differences (eg Ruger has slide lock, and trigger bar inserts differently).
I've actually shot both these guns, side by side, and I don't remember any difference in terms of force necessary to rack the slides. Maybe there was one, I just don't remember. The Ruger was a little smoother. . .that's was about it.
IMO neither one of them is particularly easy to rack the slide. . .I think you might have trouble if your hands were wet or cold with these.
Maybe the Ruger you shot was more broken in? That could explain some difference in perceived recoil spring stiffness or resistance when racking the slide.0
