Colt Detective Spec

I have a Colt Detective Special in 38 Spec. that Proofhouse says it was made in 1925. However there is also a "T" above the ser no and an upsidedown "A" below the Ser No. I am wanting to know if these letters are of any significance. Thanks

  Extraneous numbers & letters are generally assembler or inspector codes. They are of no significance.

  You probably have a re-barreled Police positive Special, since the Detective Special was not introduced until 1927. Only a factory letter will verify.
  
  The "T" mark is said to mean "targeted" at the factory, meaning the gun got some special attention to make it shoot to point of aim. There is some debate as to whether that is true. The other mark is surely just an inspector's mark.
