The single six could be had with two cylinder. There are several on the auction side now (for way more than I'd pay). You could download ammo for your 38 to essentially make it a 22 for a lot less money. Maybe just a 22LR then step up to midrange 38's.

If you are using a DA .38 a good choice for training would be a Ruger LCR in .22LR or Mag. I see them going around $400

sorry forgot to type I have the 38 LCR and was wondering about the lcr in 22 because of the soft trigger pull on the lcr I have

You'd need to get BOTH ([;)]) to familiarize them wimmenfolk to recoil, you see, the 22lr would be the "starter" pistola, and the 22WMRF would be the next recoil step up.
Now you have to get a "next step" for the 22WMRF, so you get a 17HMR revolver from Taurus (easy to tune the trigger-just like a Smiff) for the final rimfire recoil series.
Then you let 'em fire a coupla target HBWCs at about 650fps, and then you let 'em shoot some .38 Specials from the factory (or den) to really round out the recoil rodeo.

Seems it's gonna get kinda expensive near where you live...[:D]
