Is there any information on how a sling should be placed on the M1?[?]

  The standing joke with my gun show buddies is that it appears that there are only about 30 people in the world that know how to attach a 1907 style sling! It's always interesting and amusing to see the innovative ways those slings are put on.
  
  EDIT: I remember seeing some Garands at a gun show with the 1907 slings set up almost correctly except they were upside down!
