Remington Model 742 BDL
A customer brought in a Remington 742 BDL. It has left hand factory wood and the safety is left handed. The receiver has the operating handle & ejection port on the right side. Is this correct from the factory? My customer shoots right handed so he wants me to convert the safety to right handed operation. Can the safety just be turned around or is the right hand safety different? Any help will be appreciated!

I think the safety is just turned around for lefties.0 -
to do it right you need a new trigger plate (alum. casting). 0 -
A new safety is in order. 0 -
At one time Uncle Mike's made a LH safety that used the same detent that the RH did. The factory fix was to plug the original plunger/spring hole and redrill the hole in the proper location for the original safety to be reversed. 0 -
