Bersa-Failure to feed
Trying to break in and have confidence in a CCW in .380...With approx 60rds fired....Have had 7 FTF.Have disassembled cleaned and properly lubed,,,Mag seems to function as it should,,,firm grip,,,,Federal 95gr fmj,,,Still problems.Ejection is accomplished,reload is halfway in battery or perpendicular to mag..Any solutions??Thanks.

Try some other brand/type of ammo and a different factory magazine. Try pushing up one the base of the magazine with your thumb to see if it will cycle correctly. Make sure there are no burrs inside the magazine. Make sure extractor moves correctly and is burr free. 0 -
Some .380s don't like anything other than ball ammo. 0 -
failure to feed is generally ammo related. 380s can be picky when it comes to ammo. I use the sellior and ballet ammo. works great in mine. 0 -
The bersa is basically an improved walther.
Meaning that it isn't nearly as finicky. That's why I asked what ammo you were using when you posted on general discussion.
But it still has some quirks.
If the federal you are shooting has the flat nose (and I think it does ). That's your problem. Save that for a keltec .380. Cause that's all they like.
Don't buy Winchester win clean. Same problem.

8 or 9 FMJ are better than 1 HP out of a .380 or .32 , penetration matters more than expansion on low powered weapons IMNSHO.0 -
Bersa is prone to F{burp} (failure to feed and fire). The issue is the magazine safety spring. With high recoil inducing ammunition the spring tail will bounce out of it's slot and not allow the slide to move forward freely. The spring tail is on the rh side of the frame. Make sure that is in place, first.

As you describe things your malfunctions are occurring in the feeding portion of the cycle, which puts the magazine high on your suspect list - especially if rounds are ending up perpendicular.

Oustanding idea, as this may also confirm it's NOT a mag problem. I agree with you Txs, not enough info yet to say mag or not.
Each issure sorted out is one more step in the direction of success.0 -
My friend had one and he said it kept FTF and we all tried it and nothing so he was limp wristing. Might look at that and just guessing since Bersa has a vg record[?] 0 -

I've got one and consider them a great little CCW pistols. That being said, mine pretty much insists on round nosed FMJ bullets AND concentration on keeping my wrist stiff. Sissy-wristing will get me a failure-to-feed. Try addressing those two issues and see what happens. [:)] 0
