model 1927/1911 fring pin issue

    remove fireing pin retainer and see if pin return spring is missing or bent / broken then replace the return spring if needed

    firing pin spring is there but perhaps it is weak.

    Always a possibility that a .38 super/9 mm firing pin was mistakenly used. They have a different diameter than the one used for .45 ACP. Check to see if this is causing your problem?

    low cost as they are.. replace the firing pin stop / pin / and spring.

    I have already found a source for new parts but wanted to make sure it was not something else.

    The firing pin taper should be slightly under that of the firing pin tunnel, with the firing pin at full protrusion.
