Give it a really good cleaning - including cleaning as much of the mag tube and mag tube insert (the part that actually pushes down on the bullets) as you can.

    Then clean it again.

And if you think it is clean, clean it one more time.

    Then repeat the test.

Could be the feed spring is weak, or something is off on the lifters, but so many of these fine little guns are so dirty a good cleaning will take care of most issues.

What is the round count? As kids, my buddy, his brother and I could wear one out to jam-o-matic in the summer. The replacement would last over the winter and spring.

Inspect the magazine tube liner for dents. Use your cleaning rod to push the follower back inside the tube. Feel for tight spots or dragging zones. Could be a weak spring from left for years with a full magazine or dried crud build up on the inside.

Everyone of the 6 we wore out was at least a good shooter right up until it became a jam-o-matic.

+1. The housing is made from a zinc alloy ("pot metal"), chrome plated - when the plating wears through, they mis-feed.
