Nambu Type 14 doubling?
I obtained some ammo for my never-been-shot-by-me old Japanese Type 14 Nambu pistol. At the range, it doubled (two shots with one trigger pull). Disassembly and close inspection shows all parts are there, in proper place. Now this pistol is a bear to disassemble and especially re-assemble, but I followed instructions I found at a couple different websites, and with close attention it seemed to go okay. I suspect the trigger bar and spring is defective in some way, but can't see a problem. Any ideas?

Nambu is striker fired, i.e. doesn't have a hammer. When the bolt goes forward into battery, the sear is supposed to hold the striker. Until the trigger is pulled again.
I would question the ammo if everything appears to be OK internally. Also check where the sear and striker interface. From my experience it tends to be a high wear area. Specially if the ammo doesn't have the same ballistic specs, as the original Japanese military ammo.0 -
I have a lady friend that has such a light trigger touch she can make several of my autoloaders double. As hard as I try I can't get them to do it.

Where did you find the ammo? Ive got a 7mm Baby Nambu that Ive been advised never to fire, that it is museum quality, but Id like to have some ammo just to say I do. Ive found some reloads at crazy prices, but it seems to be scarce? 0 -

I obtained the 8mm Nambu ammo from Buffalo Arms. It is reformed from headstamped .40 S&W cases. 0
