    You could list them as 8X57JR projectiles (.318). A person that owns a rifle in that caliber will know what they are.

    The .261 diameter bullets might be for one of the various 6.5 mm hunting rifles, made in Europe during the early years of the 20th Century? The extreme heat found in Africa and India caused pressure spikes with the early smokeless powders. Perhaps the bullets were deliberately made under size to prevent accidents? Weigh them on a grain scale. The most common 6.5 hunting bullets, during that era weighed between 150 & 160 grains.
