Remington 24 cartridge stop question
I have an early Remington model 24 in 22 short. When test firing it, all the shells would drop out the bottom when I attempted to chamber a round. After diss-assembly I noticed it did not have a cartridge stop. After searching through my old parts I found a cartridge stop, cartridge stop plunger, and a cartridge stop plunger spring for a Remington 241. I have installed the cartridge stop but I can't seem to figure where the plunger and spring go. With just the cartridge stop in place it seems to cycle fine (without firing it) my question is:
Does the Remington model 24 use the same cartridge stop as the model 241? If so does it need the plunger and plunger spring. If it needs the plunger and the spring, where do they go?

both models use the same cartridge stop. there is NO spring and plunger involved. 0
